Get Ready For What Is Coming Next At YouTube

As AI is everywhere right now, it's only right that the world's largest video platform gets in on the act.

That's right YouTube are releasing their own AI tools to help create better videos.

If your team are making videos to support your product marketing or brand awareness, you probably need to know about these tools.

Here's what's in this week's newsletter:

📌 AI Insights Coming To YouTube

📌 Generate AI Video and Images Within YouTube

Whether you're a B2C or B2B marketeer, you shouldn't ignore the fact that YouTube Shorts is averaging over 70 billion daily views.

And that's why YouTube are building these tools, to support the growth of this rapidly growing channel.

📌 AI Insights Coming To YouTube

AI-Powered Insights

YouTube wants to help you devise better video content by helping you to come up with new ideas and reach new audiences.

If you've used ChatGPT before then you may well have tried to generate content ideas and had mixed results.

YouTube's implementation differs in one key way. It will help you generate video ideas and draft outlines which are based on insights from your channel. This means you'll be drawing from data related to your existing audience, which ChatGPT can't do.

Automatic Dubbing

In a past edition of the Smart CMO Newsletter, I discussed creating content in several languages by leveraging AI.

Well, YouTube are building that directly into their platform under the title 'Aloud'.

So using their own AI-powered dubbing tool, you will be able to go from transcript to dubbed video in seconds. Enabling your video to be seen by a significantly larger audience.

And don't forget, this will likely be accessible to anyone with a YouTube account.

📌 Generate AI Video and Images Within YouTube

Every marketeer knows the frustration of not finding the right video or image for their project.

Soon you won't need to spend hours trawling through stock footage and image sites to find what you're after.

Yep - YouTube are solving that problem too. Their new experimental feature will allow you to create AI-generated video or image backgrounds.

Pop in your prompt... ⭐ magic happens ⭐ ...and before you know it, a panda drinking coffee.

My Thoughts

If you're already using AI tools in your daily workflow, then these new features will come as no surprise and likely be welcomed.

What is becoming very clear to me, is that features like these are rapidly being included by even large tech companies. That means the product dev pipeline has had to shift to accomodate, and with that these tools are great experiments to see what works.

It's my hope that other features like these are prioritised to enhance user experience, whilst other features are quietly sunset (retired). Meaning that as marketeers we get access to latest features within products we already use and enjoy using.

Your customer wins as they'll get a video auto translated into their native language, whilst businesses are able to promote to a wider audience. All because an experimental feature was rolled out for us to run our own experiments.
